i have a garret T25 from a S13 silvia. I also have a old skool HKS ZC manifold....my issue is that the manifold is hitting the compressor outlet and wont match up at the flanges......a buddy of mine that works at HKS told me to "clock" the turbo......how would i go about doing that?

Loosen the bolts on the side of the compressor and spin it. You can also clock the exhaust housing side as well by simply loosening the bolts.

Also, if it doesn't seem to want to move, try tapping on the compressor housing with a plastic mallet to loosen it up.

 

If your T25 is internally gated, you might run into the problem of the wastegate bracket not fitting properly after your turbo has been clocked. So you might have to custom fab a bracket for your wastegate.

That, and/or remove the housing(s) and clean up any gunk that may be inside, and it should clock freely

 

I have to clock my T3/T4 with the new mani but the exhaust housing won't budge. Any ideas? I tried hammering it with a piece of wood and it's locked up good. WD40'd it and still nothing. The exhaust housing doesn't seem to come off

Are you sure you loosened the right bolts. Its the ones furthest from the center housing. Hmmmm it may really really be stuck otherwise. Is this used or new? My new t3/t4 spun around without a problem so i can't say anything about used turbos....yet!

 

yeah i took out all the bolts

i've used it for a while...spun easy when it was new but i guess it's rusted on itself right now....looks like other people are having the same issue.

i never clocked it perfectly vertical because of the fitting for the oil pickup so i wanted to fix that....i'll try heating it up
