Can I clock an internally wastegated turbo?
I have a GT28RS, and I would like to clock the compressor housing to point somewhere else (not absolutely necessary, but more convenient). However, the internal wastegate mechanism attaches the turbine housing to the compressor housing. This prevents me from moving it more than 10 degrees or so in either direction - i want to move it 180.
Does anyone know how this can be done?
If i could take off the backing plates and interchange them, this would work, but the instructions forbid it.
help appreciated.

just look to see if there are bolts on the cold side and the exhaust side, should be 6 on both sides.

that doesnt work, the wastegate still prevents the thing from being clocked more than 10 degrees.

Usually you are limited to wherever the bolts will fit in. You can unbolt the compressor housing, clock it how you want then try to bolt the actuator to the nearest bolt holes that will fit. I have done this before, though it usually involves clearancing the actuator bracket in some way.

What i was thinking was i'd very carefully unbolt the bracket with the wastegate on the compressor housing and switch it with one of the other brackets. would there be any damage to the wheel or clearance issues if i did this?
