Default knowledgable people please help....need some opinions

whats going on...i have another post about superchargring..but this is different
my goal is 300whp however attainable.
it would either be a port and polished head, crower titanium retainers, dual springs, valves, and forced induction spec camshafts, on a stock block, with headers exhaust, apexi power fc, inline pro intake manifold, 65mm throttle body, upgraded fuel system and a vortech supercharger

or

precision sc34 turbo, fullrace tubular manifold, tial wastegate, hks ssqv blow off valve, apexi power fc, 440cc injectors, exhaust, xs engineering skyline core intercooler, custom piping, fuel pump and everything.

im looking for 300whp on tap whenever i want it, but on a STOCK BLOCK with little risk. i say this because adding forced induction to a stock block is risky as is, you can just do it safely and be ok usually. the car is a daily driver with 35,000 miles on it. new clutch and flywheel to go along with either setup.

Ok me personly i would go with a turbo setup.

#1 Fuel management = Hondata or some other kind of ECU tuning device, IE uberdata, good ****. You will be hard pressed for 300 safe WHP with out it.

#2 What engine will you be trying to do this on? I would Hope atleast a b16 or B18c 1/5 or at the very very least b18a/b and an H22 would just be the ****......

#3 Tuning, tuning, tuning!

#4 you will probably want to lower the compression on any engine your gonna build with a thicker head gasket. Look for something in the 9.0 1 - 9.5 1 area.

#5 And i personaly would consider a T3/T4 hybrid type turbo for this setup/build

it would be run a b18c1. i was planning on a hondata head gasket in either setup just for a nice safety cushion, but im trying to be different and have yet to see a blown gsr making 300whp. anything can be done with time and the funds, is it possible to attain my 300whp goal with the supercharger setup?

I would contact a local tuner. 300whp maybe attainable NA, and would be cheaper that way if it is. If you go FI via turbo you will be rebuilding the motor anyway.

I hope you have some serious cash to drop. maybe getting an EVO or STI would be more practical.

Default It' difficult!!!!!

A local tuner has a stock LS boosting 14 pounds making 270 hp to the wheels.

I saw it dyno personally!

If you add all the head work you will have it's good for maybe 30 hp.

So you have the most boost happy honda engine (LS) boosting 14 lbs. making 300 hp.

Please note that this is done with EXTENSIVE tuning and a great fuel setup.

It is possible, and if money is not an issue it's also easy!

Turbo over supercharger in my opinion.

you've got to be joking. 300 whp NA cheaper than 300 whp turbo? pssh. good luck.

also, i know you want the block stock, but i would recommend at least a set of forged rods.

If you want to do something other than DRAG RACING, go with the supercharger. Turbo is horrible for throttle response and linear powerband in FWD Hondas. The supercharger will let you maintain the feel of an N/A car, the power is based on your throttle position, and you will still be able to gas out of a turn and not understeer badly because of strong boost spool. If you are a drag racer...go for the turbo.

300 whp isnt easy on a b18c1 and definatly not cheaper than FI.

If you really want 300whp then Id go with a turbo set up. That said though, I personally wouldnt want to be running the amount of boost needed to make 300whp without building the block. Keep in mind its cheaper to do it right the 1st time, than to fix a messed up block after you drop a rod or something.

I see a LOT of 300whp posts lately, so let me comment.

For an Integra the best bang for the buck is a turbo B18B. VTEC engines just cost too much should something go wrong. With a B18B you can be back on the road after a long weekend and about $800.

Anything past 225whp and the price goes up exponentially. I got my 96 Integra, needing a head gasket, for $1000. I was able to locate a used T3 turbo set-up for $800, soup to nuts.

Now you have a B18C. I would still go turbo. Slap on a block brace, get the thinker gasket, and keep the boost low till you see a tuner.

Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

this is just a big decision you know....the 300whp goal is after forced induction headwork and tunin....i plan on a golden eagle block guard either way....the vortech kit pumps out 278 to the crank, like 242 or so with the 15% "discount", so figure headwork putting out around 30 hp, id be around 275.....tuned...could i get there? i just want to be different, the car WILL be a daily driver and im looking for dependable power on tap, granted the vortech kit is centrifugal, peak boost is at redline, so. the car will be fine tuned after the installation and will not be driven until a nice program is running well without any problems whatsoever. granted turbo is the way everyone seems to go...it would either be an xs engineering turbo kit with pretuned apexi powerfc, or the fmax/turbonetics kit with an apexi powerfc. as of right now im leaning towards supercharging and the headwork, with a fine tune and seeing where my luck takes me. any comments conflicting this choice? i really appreciate all your opinions, and thanks everyone
