Adjust your throttle cable if needed.

ya, we got everything connected just like any other intake system, but for some reason whenever he pushes the clutch in or puts in it neutral it idles around 2.5-3.5k. When letting the clutch out, he doesnt even have to press on the gas. We're going to go check the TBC in a couple of minutes after the teachers done talking but im stumped. Its just a simple cai, no big deal right? Well obiviously something is wrong

k, just looked at and when he starts the car, the arm thing (dont know the exact name of it ) that the cable connects onto moves slowly, when he steps on the gas, the cable retracs like it should and same with the arm thing its connected to. When he lets off the gas the cable extends back to normal BUT the arm thing wont wind back. Its like the spring behind it is worn out or something.

try bleeding your coolant, somthing causing the car to high idle when air bubbles are trapped in the coolant...there is a bleeder screw that you need to use, but i cant remeber where it is...

I actually fixxed a problem in my gf's car today...her car has been idling high for a long time, and at first i thought it was the throttle cable, becaue if the car sat for a minute or two, like at a light, it would idle down, but as soon as you stopped again it would idle high for a minute or so...and yes this was when the car is fully warm...

I had her hold down her gas pedal while i scraped with a screwdriver and some carb clener at the inside of her throttle body (took the air hose off) and just cleaned around where the plate sitts, turns out the carbon wasnt allowing it to easily retract all the way.

thx for your help but one day when his dad took the car to work, he must have taken it to a shop of something but the next time my friend started it up and drove it, it was perfectly fine and still is.
