can u break in a fresh motor w/ turbo installed?
well i was searching and read up a lil on break in processes and imma prolli do the run it hard method.
i was wondering if u can break it in with turbo installed already? let me know thanks

Im sure you can, but I think im going to pop in my hondata base map make sure my a/f is dead on and run it 1000 miles and just street tune for the low rpm band.
yeah imma prolli do that or run fmu or something but here's a link read up on it sounds like the right thing to do while breakin in the motor. what u think?

Only problem is if you break it in that way with the turbo on. yyour tuen could be so far out of wack that you can break **** at 8000RPM in boost.. I guess you could just set the boost to 0psi tho.

how about if u just use fuel pump/missing link/fmu for the break in then upgrade to uberdate/hondata etc after the break in?

I'm currently breakin mine in with turbo in as I can't be bothered to mess about with the WG. I just try hard not to get into boost but its difficult, my eyes are glued to the boost gauge... Soon as I get above 5krpm even very light throttle spools it hard.. If you plan on running in w/boost just make sure your AFRs are very good and timing sorted with standalone.
If I was to do it again I would do it NA cos then I drive it hard futher up the rev range.
YOu will get 1093097441 opinions on break-ins, some say its better with boost as more pressure is applied to the rings compared to NA hence giving it a better seal (maybe a builder can chime in and validate this point...?) and others say boost n break-in is a no-no.

i seen somewhere on honda-tech a post on where its dangerous to break in a motor untuned.......that you should just straight it up let it idle ....and get it on a dyno asap....which they made a really good point its better to break your motor in tuned.....then driving 1000miles untuned hurtin your motor.....
theres a certain procedure which i forgot i know i am sorry this is no help.....but just research and you will find it.....
i just blew my motor recently after i rebuilt it i am gonna hop on a dyno asap...
i drove my motor for 1500 miles untuned.......it had a 1.8 baseline on a hondata.....i was runnin on a 2.0 liter 9.8:1 compression.....same injectors.....
put 18kmls on a fully built block considering the hell i put it through it lasted for awhile........then i tuned it for 12psi made 332/228 then swap in a jg intake manifold and usdm itr tranny and recently blew my motor on a high speed run...i think my oil pump went out...caused me to have spun bearings....
being untune is pretty dangerous if you ask me

hmm yeah prolli a good idea to run it hard n/a for at least 500 miles the guy on the site i posted said the first 50 miles are the most important etc. prolli when i start her up ill take it around the block hard then hop on the freeway run it hard. then just go back and let her idle etc
If I was you I would break it in with 0 boost. When you are ready to get it tuned but it on a dyno and get it setup, just my opinon. Thats what I'm planning on doing, to much invested to screw something up Goodluck
im thinking to get my car tow to my tuner and get him to tune my freshly built engine, so basically im gonna break-in the motor on the dyno
