well just got back from the dyno now

Default well just got back from the dyno now

14# of boost with fully built b16 running gt61s turbo from ITS. I made 253 hp and 167tq at 9000rpm . but didnt even see 14# until 7000 rpms . what is wrong here why such a big lag. Planning to tune to 30# to try for 500hp. Will this turbo lag like this still even at higher boost????? this pos motor is driving me nuts buddy of mine also dynoed his 2.0 stock build also and made 243hp and 247tq at 4000 rpms 4000RPMS at 12# hes running 18g greddy. Is this turbo just to big or do I have some issues?????????? please help not happy with #s at all

could it be the cams. the cams are ctr because it came with the head when I bought it

What size bore are you running?

Do you have any leaks in the system?

Your number is about 100whp lower than they should be.

do u have cam gears? generally the CTR/ITR cams from what I have heard have too much overlap to make power in vtec on boost. Obviously thats why cam gears are needed to tune the overlap out.

More displacement will get you more torque a lot sooner too. B16s can make some good horsepower but torque is not their department, Especially in the low rpms.

yes. how high your boost is, is just dependent on your wastegate. unless you have a leak or some tuning problem like they said, your turbine and/or turbine a/r is too big.

does your vtec work. I have a built b16a and at 15psi on the little cam made 253 and 200 torque. when vtec was set it was makink 347 fwhp. hope it helps. what fuel management are you using.
