Need advise from HT audio/video guru's, check out pics.
Okay, I don't know anything about audio systems. I can install my own stuff but I've got a few questions. I won a set of Infinity Kappa components awhile back and never got around to installing them. I understand I need more power than the aftermarket deck I put in. So I'm trying to figure out how much power is good enough.
My girlfriend happend to have an old amp sitting around that her ex left behind. She doesn't want it and if it will save me a few bucks and work for my application, I'll use it. Below is the speaker set I won, and a pic of the back of the amp.
Any advise? Will this work? Should I just get something else?

I don't know what to say about this comment.
Anyways...both sets of speakers are 4ohm stable so just wire the mtx to your 60.5cs. You should be pushing 50w to each side. Don't know if that is powering the **** of them, but you can take 1990's word for that. As far as the 62.5i you can power them of you head unit as use them for rear fill if you choose to.
Nice freebies by the way

Okay well that makes sense.. tell me if I'm wrong on this. What would make more power? if you say the AMP will put out 50w on each side, and my aftermarket deck says 47wx4, wouldn't the deck put out more power? Would that be 94w x 2? I know that's probably wrong.
It's probably like factory HP ratings.. I have to take 45% of that number or something lol.
So, if the AMP is better it should power the fronts and the deck can handle the rears. if I ever get around to getting a 10" I should get another AMP or get one that's built in?
Sorry for all the newb question.. audio isn't my thing.

Factory decks don't put out any near 47w, i think its more like 12-15 (don't quote me)
94x2? You can't bridge the factory deck.
As far as the rear goes, just run it off the deck. I come from the "rear fill is for Sissys" school of thought, so i personally would just get rid of the rears.
But like i said, for your setup, running the rears of the deck will be fine.
As far as adding a sub later you can either:
1. Buy another amp for your sub
2. Use the MTX for you sub and buy a better amp for your fronts
I would stay away form any of the self powered subs. That MTX bridged into one channel will push 200w at a 4 ohm load, so it should give you a nice little bump when coupled with a 10" sub.
Hope this helped....TnT

Those speakers sound better when amplified. Try to get a good 4ch amp and leave the MTX to power a small subwoofer, bridged.
actually you could use alpine's mrpf240. This amp will provide about
35 watts by 4 @ 4 ohms /12.8 volts ( maybe a lil higher) this would be
a good match with the mtx amp. It retails around 199.

Totally agree with this guy
Use hwat you have for now, put the rears on the radio ( cuz they shouldn't be near as loud as the front) use the amp for now, and when your ready to add the sub, switch amps around....

Yeah, got these for free when I did the Honda-Tuning, SCC, etc.. Trek to Sonoma roadtrip thing last sept.
So, they were free although someone hit my car on the way down there. At least they put me in the mag! Thanks for the advise.
