Help w/amp and sub install

Default Help w/amp and sub install

The power light is on the amp but nothing is going to the sub. I tried two different rcas. Anything else it could be?

One possibility is that the RCA output is disabled if you have speakers connected to the deck. I had an older Sony that did that

Are you using a non-fading output???

if so, look in your manuel and it will tell you how to turn it on
i have the excelon 817 and i need to do that

have you tried another set of pre-outs?? different RCA cord??
if you can maybe a different amp if those don't work

also, make sure the level for the non-fading pre-out isn't set all the way down

Ive tried a different set of rcas. Im going to try it out in my dads car today. The nonfading preout is turned up also. We'll hafta wait and see.

check the deck for an on/off setup. my alpine is default of OFF for the subs. also check your ground wire just to be sure.

I cant find any on/off button for the sub in any menus. If anyone else has detailed help for kenwood exceleon 616 with mtx thunder 4122 amp and mtx t612 sub/enclosure. Thanks

there should be a button on the deck that will have "nf' listed on it

mine is the "AM" button, you just hold it down untill it says "non-fading on/off"

Check the speaker wires going from the amp to the sub, you might have them on the wrong terminals.

also check the connection inside of your box, maybe it came loose. mkae sure the gain and all those controls arent turned all the way down.

use a 9V battery to "POP" the speaker. If you hear something then, use a portable CD player witha 1/8" ended headphone plug and a pair of RCAs on the other and plug them into the amp. If you hear something it's somethign else further up the signal chain.
