hey.. please help... going down the freeway today at 80 m/p/h... let the accelerator go and a weird sound came from the engine bay... it was a scrapping sound kinda sounded like it could be the tranny... but hard to tell... anyone have this problem before or know what it could be? o yea.. the car is completely stock and automatic w/ 117k miles. . . any ideas???

is your skid plate hanging down? i had a similar sound in my car while driving down the highway at high speeds and i came to find out my skid plate was grinding on the road

 

newb here... where is the skid plate??? nothing loose in engine bay or under.
