Default 1996 ITR DISTRIBUTOR, help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 1996 ITR Motor and now I need to change my DISTRIBUTOR.

By the way, I have MSD SCI w/ Blaster Coil, anf MSD Cap.

Is the GSR and ITR distributor the same ?

Is the USDM and the JDM distributor the same?

OEM from Acura is like $500.00, I was considering to buy one from the "DISTRIBUTOR KING" doe anyone have experience with their products????

When I drive, around 4000-5000 RPM my tach jump up and down quickly.

I check all grounding and it's fine. I went to a performance shop and they told same thing it's the distr. going bad. Any suggestions?

Any help is greatly appreciated.....

Many Thanks...................

JDM and USDM should be the same. Any OBD2 b-series VTEC distributor will work with your motor. The caps may be different, though. I have a '00 Si distro in my '96 GS-R, and was going to put the GS-R cap on but it didn't fit.

I have MSD Cap and SS Blaster.

Should just go to Acura and buy the Distributor Housing for like $250.00 instead buying the whole distributor?

Cause I do not need the Coil and Ignitor, right?

He has a 92-95 civic coupe, you need to change your cap to work with OBDI. Ask in the hybrid forum, you will get a faster response there.

Actually, now I'm experiencing some hestitating and it's not going into VTEC.

Only when the car is hot during drive.

It's actually getting worse, any more advice?

Call Pat at Distributor King & tell him I sent you (plus you'll get a 10% discount for mentioning ITRCA.com). He'll hook you up with whatever you need at a good price - MUCH less expensive then OEM.
FWIW - I've been running his full distributor on my R for ~ 15,000 miles & no problems. I run in all of the advanced groups for road events like the Expo, Porsche club, Audi club, Corvette club, etc...

Pat is "double thumbs-up".
