1996 ITR DISTRIBUTOR, help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a 1996 ITR Motor and now I need to change my DISTRIBUTOR.
By the way, I have MSD SCI w/ Blaster Coil, anf MSD Cap.
Is the GSR and ITR distributor the same ?
Is the USDM and the JDM distributor the same?
OEM from Acura is like $500.00, I was considering to buy one from the "DISTRIBUTOR KING" doe anyone have experience with their products????
When I drive, around 4000-5000 RPM my tach jump up and down quickly.
I check all grounding and it's fine. I went to a performance shop and they told same thing it's the distr. going bad. Any suggestions?
Any help is greatly appreciated.....
Many Thanks...................

I'd put the ignition back to stock first to see if it's the distributor or the MSD.
If the problem persists, I'd replace the cap/rotor, wires/plugs, then check timing make sure it's at 16° first.
Good luck.

Did that but does the same thing

Re: 1996 ITR DISTRIBUTOR, help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (jmk2888)
Could be in the cluster, although not a common problem. On the other hand, the cam sensor could be going out in the distrubutor, but that honestly doesn't sound like the problem if you aren't experiencing any drivability problems. Try removing/checking the connections on the back of the cluster and see if the connection is loose or the "ribbon" electrical board has any cracks or pinches in it. There may not be a grounding problem under the hood, but it's possible that there is one somewhere between the ECU and the cluster. Hope this helps!

Actually, now I'm experiencing some hestitating and it's not going into VTEC.
Only when the car is hot during drive.
It's actually getting worse, any more advice?
