Turbo ITR firing on 3 cylinders - broken distributor?
Out of the blue, after about an hours driving in traffic, my ITR suddenly sounded like it was only firing on 3 cylinders. After a few mins driving, it sorted itself out and I thought no more of it.
Next night, same thing happened but it didn't sort itself out.. and I had to drive 150 miles home at like 30mph. The wideband was reading very erratically, between 12 and 19. Today I noticed a hairline crack in the distributor cap - could this be the problem?
If so, what might cause this to happen? Should I just go for a replacement stock distributor, or is it worth getting something more performance-oriented, if so what?
Thanks in advance

Re: (Boondock Saint)
It could be the pickups on the distributor cap itself. Just pull it off real quick and see if one of the four pickups has been broken off. If it has, you could go OEM, or a modified MSD cap and then get an external coil.
