Default Does my Wastegate Valve look normal???

When looking through the dump side you can see a gap.. Is this normal when you have the wastegate off without having the vacuum hooked up to it... Here's some pics to describe what i'm talking about...

Well, I know with internal there spring loaded shut, untill the boost pressure pushes it open. So I'm gonna say there's somthing not right.

the metal ring should compress down when you tighten the wastegate to the manifold to seal off the valve.

put something flat over the ring and tap it down and see if it will go down all the way and if there is still a gap or not

I'm pretty sure the ring is all the way down on there but I'm not sure if it would seal when I bolt it down on the manifold...

The ring is not all the way down. When you bolt it on it will seal, it's fine.

from what i remember with my 35mm when i had it , it was just like that off the top og my head. it doesnt matter though, once you put the ring in and seat it on the manifold, its gonna push the plunger up more anyway. as long as it seals on the ring, youll be fine . and i can tell you from the look of the gap it will seal fine on the ring.

I remember seeing a wastegate that does not shut when it's not hooked up.

I believe its this TurboSmart Brand.

Saw that thing in person at last year's Nopi Nationals, I questioned the guy at the booth and he said it works fine.

I have that WaisteGate, I did't install it though, it is a very nice gate, sounds nice to, A boost controller is recommended with them, cause other wise you have to order a spring that i heard is a bitch to install!

sounds real nice i dont understand what purpose a wastegate has if it doesnt shut all the way..its just leaking off gas that would help spool the turbo

ill stick with my nice and simple tial
