Default Is it worth upgrading to aftermarket valves?

i have a ls/vtec turbo set up and my head is fully built. port n polish , springs and retainers. The only thing that is stock is the valves. I have some down time until my head gasket comes in from cometic. about two weeks, hopefullly less!!!!!!!!1
Is it worth upgrading to aftermarket valves while the head is off?????
The only advantage i see to changing them is so they don't melt.
does oversizing and stainless steel valves add any major horsepower??????

thanks
