Bent my valves. Should I upgrade or keep stock?
I bent most of my exhaust valves. If I were to upgrade them, now would probably be best. Should I even bother? My stock valves before were ceramic coated. I'm looking into stainless, and Ferrea valves are $20 each. Ceramic coating cost $10 each, plus I have to get the valves. So whats better for the price?

Now's the time to upgrade, whether its oversizing or going with stainless steel. It depends if you're boosting or not. In addition now is time to port the head if you hadn't done so already.

Any valve will work ok on the street but you MUST put in aftermarket valve springs and retainers or you will bend the valves again. Stainless steel valves are a good choice for turbo motors.

Yes, the head has been worked on, by DPR. The motor is boosting at 16psi. Dan suggested the ceramic coated valves. But now they're gone. Ferrea is the only company I've seen sell valves. Is there any other's I can look into? I'm hoping to find something less than $20 per valve.

I don't understand why I need after market springs and retainers. Can you explain your reasoning? They didn't actually bend while it was running or anything. I just screwed up reinstalling the head (timing was way off or it slipped like crazy).

I floated my exhaust valves (even with a rev limiter) running stock springs. Since I put Web Cam springs and retainers in my B18C...no more bent valve problems.

look for valves that would bend before they crack....if that makes sence.... i would rather bend a valve then crack one. then u have a piece of valve goin threw yer motor.
