Look at this video of my timing belt...good or bad??
Ever since I bought my car I've noticed that the idle is somewhat "noisy". Upon inspection, I can see that the timing belt seems to have a lot of flappage/flex, which I think is causing the excessive noise. How bad is this? What does it take to replace the tensioner pulley? Would the entire TB have to be removed?
Here's the vid (844kb digicam quality
crank up your volume):

get a Helms to get the proper specs.
ITR motors are noisy. Usually its just the injectors ticking. If the timing belt is flapping, then you need to measure its movement to see if it needs to be adjusted. I doubt thats the source of the noise though.

which if roughly guessing it appears to!

It seems to be more than that to me....I dunno...maybe I'm just paranoid. I guess a valve adjustment should be in my future plans. I wouldn't describe the noise as a "ticking" sound though...I'd call it more of a "rattling".

looks like a bit much to me also. just check it's tension per the specs and you'll have your answer.
For what it's worth, you CAN hear a TB when it gets real loose.

45 ft-lbs.
Turn the crank a few degrees and then tighten the tensioner bolt.

Oh...I guess I'd need to turn the crank a few degrees CCW since I'd be tightening the tensioner CW, right?

lazy = me.
~72,000 easy miles on mine = time to swap it.
the water pump felt ok so that will wait till the head comes off.
