Default to turn up boost or not? help

i have a manual turbo xs boost controller that isnt installed on my car.. i have a tial wastegate with 5psi spring... my question is should i turn up the boost and if i need to do anything else besides install the boost controller. my car is a everyday driver engine is stock with about 50k miles i have never turned the boost past 5psi is it safe for me to do this.... the most i want to go for now is 8psi i was thinking 7 would be good though....

i think its 10.5 to 1 its rated 10hp more than the usdm

I wouldn't do it without getting bigger injectors and changing that fmu for an EMS and to getting it properly tuned. IMO.

then i guess my question is ive been running my setup for awhile now and i wont have money for hondata and dyno time for awhile so is the diff from 5-7 psi 5 being what i run now going to hurt anything

Have u tuned your motor for 5psi?

EDIT: Not necessarily dyno tuning but road tuning?

Ask yourself this. If you blow up your motor (not very likely unless your setup is REALLY screwed up) will you have money to fix your motor? I'd say just run it the way it is now and save up to get it done right. 7 psi more than likely won't mess anything up but you're pushing your luck with stock injectors and boost. Just my $.02
