Putting in new shifter bushings...HELP
Can someone give me a quick how - to in putting in new shifter bushings. I just got them from energy suspensions since my stock bushings were shot.
first you have to go under the car if you got the rod type.
then all you do is take off the old(by the way how do you know the ones you have are shot?) then replace with the new.
you need rachet 10-14mm i believe.

Remove your center console and shift **** and boot of course, so you see where the shifter goes through the floor. Jack your car up and climb under there. Where your shifter bolts to the shift linkage you want to remove the bolts holding the shifter up in the floorboard of the car then behind (meaning towards the rear of the car) there should be one of the bushings that looks like a rectangle with a hump in the center of it. Replace that and unbolt the linkage where it bolts to the tranny and replace that bushing. Reverse steps to put back together. Enjoy tighter shifts
i figured they were shot since the shifter would move in all the gears feeling like it was neutral, thanks guys, im going to do it tonight
I find it hard to believe that those bushings go bad, maybe weak but bad?
Maybe a bolt is loose or the 'bitch' pin needs to be replaced.

Mine felt the same way too. I bought a short throw for 20 Cnd though. It's pretty straight forward and the bushings come with instructions.
