Default How to remove shifter

I want to chop my shifter but im a noob and i was wondering if someone could write a how to so i can take it out and chop it and then reweld it. thanks guys greatly appreciate it.

take off shift ****, take out the 12 mm bolt that holds the shift link to shifter. Then take out the 2 10 mm bolts that hold the shifter in place.

OK i took off the shift **** and removed the 2 center peices and there is that black thing at the bottom of the shifter how do i take that out to get to those bolts?

but from under the car i should be able to see it pretty easy or is it hard to find?

its easy, just follow the shift links back to the shifter, Take out the bolts that hold the shift link on. Then follow the shifter up and you will see the 2 bolts you take out to drop your shifter

just jack up the car and take a look at things and you will see what has to be done, shouldn't be a problem at all. Good Luck

you dont need to re weld it. you can just use a die and cut new threads after you chop it. honestly the throw wont be any shorter, the **** will just sit lower. unless you are talking about chopping the pivot ball thing off and moving that
