Hi i'm new on honda-tech and was wondering which is better for boost on a b18c gsr motor. Either gsr or ls tranny? I would think ls because you stay in boost longer, but i am not sure. So if you guys could help that would be great.

well the ls tranny you would stay in boost longer yes, however every time you shift you fall out of your powerband. with the gsr tranny you will stay in your powerband for a longer period of time, meaning you will excellerate quicker

If you want acceleration, and have the rubber on the ground to handle it, shorter gearing is better (ITR/Si, GSR, then LS).

If you want to break the sound barrier on the highway in 5th gear, use an LS.

THINGS I HATE: THE HORRIBLE MISCONCEPTION THAT THE LS TRANS IS BETTER FOR BOOST!

Not saying it's your fault, but so many people have heard from a friend of a friend of theirs that their 900000000 horsepower ITR is way faster with an LS trans. Shorter gearing means quicker acceleration PERIOD, doesn't matter what you say. Staying in boost longer only means you're staying in each gear longer and accelerating slower. I don't think you need an LS to go uber-fast on the highway either, my setup will hit 140 MPH in fourth gear with a GSR trans and street tires which is scary fast and really damn dumb on the streets anyways.

true anything about 120mph in a honda is pertty scary and dumb. How fast do people want to go on a highway? lol stick with a gsr tranny, you'll thank us later on.
