No spark; troubleshooting distributor?
I'm searching the H-T archives as we speak, but figured I'd throw this post out here anyway...
I'm not getting spark. My plugs, wires, fuses, and battery are fine. I don't have a CEL (MIL, whatever).
I'd like to find out for certain whether it's a problem with the distributor, but I'm not quite sure how I go about troubleshooting it.
I'm looking at my Helms right now, and it looks like there's a few visual inspection things I can do, but for testing the ICM (ignitor), I need electrical testing tools that I don't have. Is there any other way I can see if my distributor cap/rotor/ICM is bad?
I should mention that this problem sorta came up out of nowhere; I replaced my airbag and then started the car, it worked fine, I shut it off after about a minute. The car then sat for three weeks with the battery unhooked, and when I went to start it, it didn't fire up. Cranks like a champ, just no spark. No problems with the fuel system either.
Anyway, TIA for any help.

when my dizzy on my gsr motor went bad after my swap, i just swapped out the ignition control module and the coil from the dizzy on my d15b7 motor to see if one of those were the problem. so if you have a dizzy just layin around i suppose you can try that to rule out all the problems.
Yeah, I would if I did but I don't.
Trying some of the stuff mentioned in this post now:

edit: What's a "DMM"? I see it mentioned in a number of these threads.

On the coil, there are two 'screw' terminals and then the 'spring' terminal.
Place one lead on the screw terminal that has a blk/yel wire going to it. This connection is common to both the primary and secondary coils. Using the other lead, measure the resistance at the other screw terminal and the spring terminal.
