Turbo Problem After Install....
Sup everyone. Well I finnally installed the turbo in my 1994 Honda Accord Coupe with a JDM h22a motor in it. The turbo setup is as follows:
t3/t4 Turbo
Revhard Manifold
Tial Wastegate
10:1 Vortech FMU
Paxton Inline Fuel Pump (NOT INSTALLED YET)
Custom IC Piping
Spearco FMIC
MSD 6al with MSD Blaster 3 Coil
Well we finished the install yesterday night, and we took it for its first test run. The car seems to accelerate and pick up boost fairly quick and thats it. The turbo starts to spool around 3000 RPM and picks up max boost by 4000 RPM. The wastegate is set at 4.4 psi and timing has been retarded by 3 degrees. Here is the problem, when boosting, the turbo spins freely and as it should, but right when it hits 0-1 psi of boost, the car starts to bog. IT seems like it just hits a brick wall, and doesn't want to move anymore. Might I mention, this happens almost everytime at the same amount of boost, 0-1 psi. I haven't even gotten to thing to go to the wastegate preset amount yet.
My mechanic and I have concluded that either the engine is not getting enough fuel or getting to much fuel. It might be the vaccumm lines, but we have gone over it many times. There are no check engine lights, so anyone with info and opinions please help me get this thing roaring!!!

Have you checked to see if there is any smoke, possibly black smoke, coming out of the exhaust. Chances are you are running rich at that point. Do you have VAFC or SAFC? You should probably get one of those if you haven't already planned on getting a standalone(Hondata,Haltech). Don't you have a A/F guage or EGT guage? Those would help as well.
Well we do have the Autometer Air/Fuel Meter. The meter reads all green LEDs and maybe 1 yellow, but most of the time its all green. BTW, this is when trying to boost. But at idle, the the af meter goes into the lean area and sometimes off the meter on the lean side, but when you tap the gas, it goes right to the rich area. So hmmm, any other suggestions you can give me...?
The A/F guage is supposed to behave like that. The only time what it is doing really matters is when you are accelerating.
Just a quick Q since you do mentioned it, do you have anything to prevent the engine from seeing boost? Check valves, missing link, something? Also suggest installing the pump like maxim_force suggested...

Now that's not funny ... if that guy blows up his motor wouldn't you feel bad ... us D series guys have to be nicer than that to get any respect around here!

dude it might be a slight vac leak that is only really bad under boost. I had the exact symptoms you describe. Car drives fine under vac, but once you hit the gas and build some boost it bogs horribly. I had a broken vac fitting on my AEM fpr, swpped the stock one back in and it was fine.
I had that problem too. Did they bypass the MAP sensor? When My car was boggin, they told me to remove the MAP senor bypass and it didn't bog anymore. Mine was boggin to the point where the car would die out. Did they tune your car?
Yea, I have some fish valves for the check valves and I am not getting any check engine lights. Yea, trying to figure this thing out, probably going to pull the plugs to see what they look like when I get the car back from the body shop!!!
