Default ohhhhhhhhhhhhh what a day!

so as u probably read earlier, me, flamenco and jbsadler all went to the dyno today.. I went there not expecting much cause I am just running the .3bar spring in my wastegate.. I got on the dyno and my car only made 140whp with 135lbs of torque....

I was pissed, wtf u know I was at least expecting around 160.. The guys at alamo told me its cause I was running 2" exhaust(im ordering thermal monday) but I knew that couldnt be the only problem.. i am not running boost gauges yet so I was thinking it could be a boost leak or pressure drop in the intercooler since i was at such low boost..

Then I started to be worried, maybe I have a fucked up motor so I went to jbsadlers place and we did a compression test, it went 220, 210, 220, 220 so that was good.. I was happy then but we still didnt know the problem.. Then we looked to the BOV... Yup, all my boost was leaking out the BOV.. It was way too loose and my wastegate wasnt even opening after the turbo would spool.. So we tightened that up(btw vortech BOV's are hard as **** to tune) and I think we found the medium between boost leak and compressor surge..

We took it out to test it and I have to say the butt dyno thinks its making alot more power now since it breaks the tires loose at higher RPMs in first.. So im alot happier now then I was at 3:00 and im gonna get that thermal on there and go back to the dyno in two weeks when I have boost control and gauges... wish me luck

if your running stock exhaust, stock cat you should have just disconnected the cat while you were there and did the pull. But if you get a highflow cat or testpipe with that thermal you will probably get close to 30whp gain.

what u mean by my turbo being seized? I know those are sad numbers thats why I was pissed..but tonight at the street races I pulled on 2 mid 14sec cars so I know my ***** gained alot of power since we fixed the boost leak.. one car was a riced out GSR with nitrous and the other was a GTP grand prix running 11lbs on his supercharger..

but ill go back to the dyno with the thermal and 8lbs of boost and I garuntee ill make over 200 no problem.. maybe more

what i meant by siezed is that the bearing might be fucked up on your turbo..causing too much friction, slowing it down..ive seen turbo's that where totally seized..you look at the impeller while the engine is running..it aint moving..car still drives and all.but it aint got no power.
