ive been turbocharged for about 3 months now and yesterday the turbo stopped boosting it all started when i took it for a rip in 5th but i noticed something was off when it was only boosting 0.09 bars i then tested it in 1st and it boosted to 0.25bars then the boost just died off and hasnt been boosting since its a 14b turbo with the internal wastegate ?? any ideas? ive checked for leaks and doesnt appear to be any so im aiming at the wastegate ive got it set at 4psi right now

 

see if the WG opens and closes smoothly

 

hey turbo e i opened it with the flathead pushing the lever down and it opens smoothly im pretty sure thats where the problem is as i just bumped the boost up 1 psi yestrday

 

Is the turbo making any noise? Put the tip of a long handled screwdriver on the compressor cover, when the cars running listen to it through the handle you may have to get someone to rev it up a bit aswell.

 

nope no noise, im going to check the wategate the internal flapper may be stuck open

 

check the charge pipes they may have came loose

 

double checked the pipes all tight im leaning more towards the wastegate

 

check the turbine to see if the blades still spin freely

 

checked that also turbo spins freely doubt the turbo's blown i guess i'll see when i pop off the housing to check the wastegate flapper anyone know how to fix it if the flappers stuck?

 

a tap with a hammer or a mallet?

 

ive tried hitting the housing and nothing im going to take it all apart and see if the flappers stuck open, maybe its time for a external wastegate

 

checked it out today and it seems that my wastegate is open at idle and while i rev the car which is why its not boosting anyone have a clue whats wrong?? could it be the wastegate actutator?
