Got my turbo all done and it wont boost.I checked for leaks in the IC pipes could not find any.Tripple checked vacum lines and I still get no boost.I think i might have a bad turbo...?Im going to switch one out this afternoon.Any suggestions or problems you guys might of had..Help Please.I also thought it might have been the wastegate but I switched it out same problem...

 

what kind of wg do you have? would it happen to be a tial?

 

what happens when you try to drive it. Feels like your na? Do you have a boost guage?

 

The wastegate is a turbosmart but I also tried a spark racing..When i drive it it feels n/a but when the boost is about to hit it makes a squel like almost the turbo is fighting agianst the car and the boost guage will not move.When you rev the car at idle and let go of the gas the bov makes a little sound off.

did you buy the turbo used? Is there any shaft play? Sounds like maybe the turbo blade is hiting the compresor housing

 

its new but you can wiggle the shaft up and down.

 

hmm thats ok as long as its a little but if the turbo is new then its not the problem. Im thinking its your wastegate. You 110% positive everything is tight and all your hoses are clamped down. Is the kit new or just the turbo. Any cracks in the manifold?

 

all the stuff is new.we changed wastegates same problem.last night I tapped an air line into one of the ic pipes when i get home im going to fill the sytstem w/some air and take some soapy water and spray everthing down.If there is a leak I should be able to find it.

I think i found the problem.Shot air in the system and inbetween the compresor side of the turbo and the exhuast side of the turbo air is leaking.....I got another turbo my freind let me barrow

 

return that fucked up turbo you got and get your money back

Hmm. i wonder if I am having the same problem. What did you use to run air in through the system? Can the turbo be fixed?

 

bump, I'd like to know the same thing. I think my friend has a boost issue, his car just bogs down when it is supposed to be boosting, he's finally gonna let me work on the thing this weekend...

 

drilled a hole in one of the IC pipes and put a vslve stem from a tire in it.then i clamped a cap over the turbo inlet and shot pressure in the pipes and walah I found the leak.I left the vslve stem in the ic pipe and have had no problems.Later i might weld the hole up but its pretty out of the way.

 

So how did u make you rcar boost again. i feel im not boosting myself.

Did your Turbo SPOOL up at all when it was bad. When iu drove it. Can u feel any differnece at all

 

i had a non boosting problem.

installed the boost controller wrong and it locked the wastegate open. no boost.
