Default MSD coils? which one to get?

i'm planning on getting an external coil for my new setup and I"m debating which coil to go w/... the SS or the blaster 2..

my current setup consists of the following..

sc61
84 mm gsr sleeved
jg IM
hondata

Reason why i'm upgrading from stock is because last yr, i was experiencing misfiring at about 10-11 psi of boost w/ an .030 gap on my plugs..

Kinda un heard of on a gsr since my LS turbo setup had no problems...

thanks..

You can't go worng either way. I had the same issue only at higher boost, 22psi. I am using the MSD SS so we'll see next time I go to the track. My car sounds like it's missfiring at idle and on decel still. Not sure if that's related to the injector size (720cc) or it's still missing.

Goodluck.

I just sent my SS back to texas on friday. It died all the sudden. the car was idling on 3 cylinders. I was troubleshoting the problem.

I pulled out the spark plug wire from each cylinder trying to figure out which one was dead, and it was 2. So then I took out its spark plug wire and makes sure it was still firing, then pulled out its injector clip and made sure it was getting a signal. It wasnt getting a signal. Sometime around then the car just died. I then found out that there was no spark and the coil was at fualt. right now im running the car with my MSD 6A, going to a stock coil, then to the MSD cap. Its ghetto, but it works.

When I get it back I plan on calling MSD and trying to find out why it died....hope is was just a random defect.

sure, 4 coils is better than msd. however, there is a hell of a lot more involved with installing 4 coils rather than just upgrading to an external coil

You mentioned that beside the 4 coils there are a lot more things to do please give me some example of what you mean.

there was a pretty extensive thread on the AEM EMS forums about someone trying to do that, I forget the technical name for it, but it was 5 or so pages long
