Octane Booster work for ITR?
yeah, i've used lots of different ones..... STP, NOS brand, RXP, and some sh*tty one.... if you want a little more speed, use rxp, it's in a little red bottle at any auto parts store.. your gas mileage decreases a bit tho.... the stp doesn't seem to "boost" as much as the rxp, but it's noticable and you don't lose too much mileage.... if you want to waste your money, but the nos crap
Hmm, thank for the post, but for some reasons, after a bottle of NOS Octane booster, the car is a lot quiter and smoother as well... my car only done 4500km and running SHELL optimax fuel... must be the low quality of the fuel...
i gain notice of power....

I think it's snake oil. Probably adds .1 octane
Use VP Race Fuel at the track.

Variances between brands and batch of fuel often have more of a difference than adding octane. If you really want higher octane because of your turbo or super high compression, just use race fuel.
Most of the smoothness most people notice is more additives and friction modifyers than octane increase. Added power is just a placebo effect.
I've seen some octane boosters say "Street legal" and "Off road use only." Are there any differences? How can a octane booster be for off road only purposes? Im thinking its probably just a sticker slapped on to make more money.
Isn't octane just used for detonation resistance? That is why it is needed in higher compression engines. You won't get any more power from it although, you may be able to tune your car for more power with higher octane because it will resist detonation better. Not really an issue on mildly tuned cars though.

I don't use it. I doupt it will hurt your engine, but its not going to help in any way.
If I bumped the timing up to 18 degrees which adds power, I would probably consider using octane booster every time I filled up.

18 degrees is still within factory spec, so you will still be o.k. I've tried up to 20 degrees with no audiable ping..but backed it back down just in case.
SLJ - Isn't bad for the engine. Just that it isn't needed for most engines.
