vtec fading away (getting weaker) help!
I've noticed lately that the vtec crossover is not as loud and it isn't pulling quite as hard as before. My check engine light is on, and not the matinence required gauge is starting to turn from green to yellow. I just changed the oil and MTF, and thats usually the only thing that makes the cencor turn to yellow. The whole motor just sounds and feels alot more dry than it did a few months ago.
What are some things I should do to get her running nice and clean again. New water pump? Cleaning some kind of vtec related valve?? (searched and some said this) ?? Any advice/ info/ instructions would be great! thanks!

i am almost positive the light changes every 7500 miles no matter what you do to the engine.... you need to push your key into the slit under it to reset it.
and you should find out why your check egine light is on, that could be causing the problem

if your CEL is on, VTEC probably isn't engaging since the ECU is prob in limp mode. Figure out what's up with the light, and vtec will be back.
forget the sea foam.
and yes, the light changes every 7500 miles regardless of what you do to the car.

well... the vtec always works (as long as the car is warmed up) it's not in limp mode. I know exactly what that is. The reason I have been lazy and not checked the cel is because the light only comes on after about 15-30 minutes of driving. Sometimes it doesn't even come on at all.
Oh and BTW the damn thing has something funny going on with the idle. It only does it like once every stoplight or every other, but the idle will go from like perfect, to about 300-400 and the car shutters like it's gonna stall. ??
Thanks for the heads up on the maintinence light
Anyone wanna give me some quick tips on checking the cel. i hate searching

Is your EGR properly connected? or do you have it disconnected? If the CEL is related to your EGR, don't worry, it does not affect the performance of the car to the point where you could notice something wrong.
