the other day I was driving and when i got up to when vtec comes in it, it kicked in then made this weird clunking sound and now vetc does not turn on at all. i have a maint. required light now, could it be like a solenoid or something?
I havent had my s for very long so I would epericate the help very much.
Thanks,
Ryan
my email is rehrer1@msn.com if someone could help me.

well if you have a maint required light on and it's not going out... that tells you one thing....take it in and get it checked out....
like frank says... it could be a lot of things.

well.... if the maint light is for the oil/check ups and such.. it should only come on when you start the car.. and it'll blink for about 15 seconds and then turn off....
the engine does have to be properly warmed up before you enter vtec... there is a two state rev limiter on the car... before it's warmed up it'll feel like you hit the rev limiter at 6k... .. once it's warmed red limiter at 9k.... there shouldn't be any damage if you only did it once or twice... .. it's just a cut off like if you redlined it at 9k and forgot to shift for some odd reason....
if you have an ap1.. wait till you have 3 bars on your temp guage before you start to vtec...
if you have an ap2.. i think it's umm? 7 bars?? someone else should state the correct number of bars for an ap2...
