I see lots of posts about t3/t04e apps on d-series, and I was planning on picking up a garrett 50 trim from cheapturbo. However, I just came across a 54 trim t3t04b and wondered how it would work out. Both turbos would have a .48 A/R turbine housing.

The t04b compressor housing looks much smaller than the e housing so I would think they would spool faster. But, I really haven't spoke to anyone who's hd experience with them. People have commented that the older drag kits with t3t04b's worked well on d-series and had rather fast spool characteristics. But, I don't know what trim those older drag kits had. A P-trim maybe? (whatever that means)

Any help with info on these turbos is appreciated. Thanks.

that 54 trim with a .48 a/r will work awesome for quick spools on a d16 . . . got for it
