how well does a T3 super 60 work?
just wondering how well the t3 60-1 works on boosted hondas, i have seen some serious HP coming from these turbos but dont know any of the pros and cons. could someone please enlighten me. i would imagine a super kwik spool up but what are the rpm ranges they can handle?
also what is the difference between a hifi and a regular

hifi vs regular is that the hifi smaller housing on the compressor side compared with the std 4inch inlet

Re: how well does a T3 super 60 work? (b18bturbo)
the 60-1 isn't old school, its just not the bandwagon..... the thing really better about the sc61 over the 60-1 is that it performs slightly better at low boost. Check out a compressor map one day, the sc61/60-1 aren't that far off from each other......the super 60 hifi is a different compressor housing all together.... definatly a good turbo, great turbo... the main reason people use this turbo is space issues, where a 4" inlet turbo (60-1) will not fit, well thats not the main reason, but its a popular one....... won't make the big power up top like a 60-1 will but still a great choice IMHO

Im not bandwagoning the sc61, 90% of the people on here that have it have it for teh wrong reasons...but why choose the 60-1 over it? the sc61 spools quicker, perfroms better @ lower boost levels AND higher boost levels...

I agree...... i never said pick the 60-1 over the sc61..... just that the 60-1 is a good turbo and the way to go if u can't afford a sc61.... which now a days isn't really a problem, considering the popularity, the price has actually come down

so are they worth it????
i saw a couple people on here making like 400+ with the t3 super 60s as well as the 60-1. but why is the super 60 so inefficient at low boost levels?

Your getting teh super 60 confused with the 60-1. 2 totally different turbo's. The super 60 is really only efficent untill the ~300whp level. after that its like a blow dryer the 60-1 is much bigger, ive seen plenty of dyno's in the 500-550 range. Its not that the 60-1 is so bad, Before the sc61 came out it was THE turbo have on 500whp honda's. Its just that now you can get a turbo for less than $100 more that owns it in all aspects
