Default Is a T25 turbo efficient on a B16 motor?

I have been searching through previous threads, and some people say that a T25 on a B16 would "max out" near 6000 rpms, others say that it pulls hard.

I'm planning on a DSM T25, 99 Civic, between 7-10 psi. Would I feel it boosting up to 8k rpm or would it feel like i'm all motor up in the high revs??

How big is the T25 compared to a greddy 18g

I'm not trying to make a full fledged drag car. Car is a daily driver / autocrosser / spirited driving.

Thanks

I have a dsm t25 on my d15 crx @8-9psi. it makes nice power to about 6krpm then it tops off. When i say top off, it's like it levels off, not that it dips down in power. i dont think it's a bad thing, just depends on what you want. if you want to drag race it's prob not for you.

So are you saying it will feel like i'm naturally aspirated from 6-8k rpms? Or will the T25 still be pushing "7.5 psi" (stock DSM) which feels weak compared to 7.5 psi on a t3/t4?

My car is daily driven, autocrossed, and sometimes driven hard on the street

It will still be pushing however many pounds you run till redline but you will not 'feel' any more increase power (pulling power) in the high rpm range. If do a lot of freeway driving and want power I would suggest T3/T4. T25 would be nice for autox though as power is not a concern here. You will generate more power & torque with a T3/T4 than a T25 running at the same boost level.

putting a small turbo on a bigger motor will only net you torque. My good friend slapped a 14b turbo from DSM on his H23 motor, and he hit the dyno, he made really bad power. Like 160hp 200trq It will work for you, but you would prob. be a little better off going with atleast a t3 turbo, but it's totally your call.

it doesnt sound like the t25 is for you. get a t3 with bigger ar, or go t3/t4

t3/t4 is the way to go.. my sc32 precision turbo makes 240 hp on my b16 at 4 psi stock bottom end... dont waste your time or money on a t25

Probably not, It will run out of steam and lose boost pressure above 6krpm.

My buddy is running a t25 on his b20/crx.It starts to choke at right under 6000 rpms. But full spool is around 2200 rpm.

you need to look up the thread on how to read compressor maps. The smallest turbo you want for a B16 would be a 50 trim T3. which is what i have and i'm barely in the sweet spot around 8psi. A T-25 will be way out of it's efficiency range and therefore the higher you rev the more it'll heat up the air and hot air can't be compressed as easily so you're psi will flatten out and perhaps fall a little. I would personally get the 60 trim model T3 or one of the T3/T4 hybrids for faster spool

i got a b16 and a t25 setup in my del sol @ 10psi and its fun. You prolly be better off with a t3 at least. the t25 is still great though, i made 243 whp 204tq on stock internals and the car hits full boost around 2k and then drops down to 7.5 top end near redline. its jus a torque monster... a lil too much

for a b16a a t25 aint much good, it will run out of air way beofre you hit redline, a 18g turbo is far more superior to anything a t25 throws out

what about a b14 on a gsr?? will it make good power?? my friend has one, and is debating wether to put it on or not, please no feedback saying "Dont waste your time its to small" HE'S poor, and he already has it. so just wondering what kind of power it will make on a stock gsr at like 15psi. Im guessing 280whp-320mabie? anyone know? and what will it make power to rpm wise? will it still fill strong at redline?
