T25, T28, 14B, T3
I have an OBD-I Integra LS 4-door 5-speed. I'm looking to do a junkyard turbo setup on it. Originally I was planning to use the T-25 because they are cheap and quick spooling. But I read that the T-25 becomes inefficient above 5000 RPM or so. I autocross a lot and plan to do some HPDE/beginner (track) road racing in the future. I'm not too much into drag racing but now and then... So, what do you guys recommend? I want to stay on stock internals and do the whole thing on a budget. Management via AFC Hack and DSM 450 cc injectors. So I probably am not looking at going over 8 lbs of boost. The power in my car currently comes to life about 3000 rpm. I want the quickest spooling turbo that will pull efficiently to redline (7000 rpm).
Thanks,
Ben

Then why do all these people say a T3 is small, a T28 is silly, and a T25 is laughable? Are they 20 psi drag freaks?
It will hold that much pressure to redline, but is it just blowing hot air? I can pick up a "brand new" T25 with like 300 miles on it for $150.

honda-tech is full of tards who put T4's on their cars and run 6psi of boost 12 lbs from a t25 wont make as much power as 12 psi from a t4, but I had 12lbs at 2400 rpm, 8 lbs at 2200.

Re: (thrty8street)
Originally I was aiming towards just a mere 200 whp. Now I'm thinking 250 whp. But I shouldn't say numbers. I just want my car to be fun. I really don't think I'll be going over 300 whp. That's just excessive.
I don't know what kind of manifold I'll need yet. I'm deciding on the turbo.

Re: (mr_mbuna)
most people on here do not autocross, they drag and the bigger turbo's help in the top end.
I would suggest picking up a t25 or t28 (slightly larger) and this should be great, you want the lower down spool up when ya autocross.

I think you are on the right track. Do a search of my username and you'll find posts describing my power band and dyno charts. See, I too autocross and I like a quick spoolin turbo. I'm running the Apex SOHC kit on my LS swap. It spools to 14psi at 2700rpms and makes 268hp and 248ft/lbs at that boost level. I've heard it's comparable to a t3 in size but I don't really know.
It also runs a 13.3 @ 105mph in my piggy 94 Si hatch. I think you'd be happy with a t3.

Re: (glagola1)
go with the same turbo that comes on the apexi kit or else a T28 JDM t25 flange. You'kll have to use a greddy 18G turbo manifold, greddy 15g D16 manifold, axpexi D16 manifold or the HKS b series manifold.
