Default Tial wastegate not opening up.

Hey guys I noticed my Tial wastegate isn't opening, and i'm not sure why. Here is how I have it installed.

Top is open (no nipple, just open)

Side nipple -> manual boost controller -> intake manifold. (also tried without the boost controller).

I'm being told by some people that it needs to be connected to a boost source, rather than a vacuum source. I use an AEM CAI as one of my IC pipes (connecting to the throttle body) and that has a nipple on it (near the throttle body). I connected it to that, assuming it's a "boost source" and still nothing. There is no nipple on my compressor housing (Garrett t3/to4e).

Any ideas what it could be? Maybe I have a defective wastegate? Any and all help would be very much appreciated.

i dont think an mbc is supposed to be plumbed like that.
try tapping a vac line off your intake manifold and running it to the side port of the tial..it should work!

Connect the nipple from the bottom of the wg directly to the nipple off the compressor housing.

Tried it exactly like that. Still nothing.

I don't have a nipple on my compressor housing.

If you take the wg apart there's rubber diaphram that seals between the top and the bottom chambers of the wg. Maybe the diaphram got ripped. I would test if with low pressure compressed air (10-15 psi) first by blowing pressure on the lower nipple and listening for the movement of the valve.

wasnt it working after you pinched off the line from the intake pipe? anyway i looked over it when it was at the dyno for the most part. it looked ok. like it should be functional.

worse to worse, take the WG apart and see if anything wierd is going on in there. i think the car itself sounded real healthy and boost sounded good, but its hard to tell sometimes without driving it. i would go over and check closer for leaks too. some of those couplers were a little iffy.just some things to think about. maybe even check closer for vac leaks.

Tial products can get sticky sometimes...especially if they are new. Take it off and see if you can open the valve manually.

If you are going to use an MBC, feed the bottom port on the gate from a boost source, feed the MBC with a boost source, and then go from the MBC to the top port on the gate.
