Turbo
I will be installing an fmax turbo kit on my car in september. I need to know what I have to do to prepare my engine for it. I have 118000 miles on my engine and keep up with regular maint. Any suggestions or comments would be helpfull. Peace.
Do a compression and leakdown to make sure you're starting with something usable. If either of those are out of whack, don't boost on the motor. If they check out fine, go for it. Replace everything that is a typical wear item, rotor, cap, plug wires, run BCPR7ES-11 plugs, make sure all gaskets are good, etc....you'll be replacing your fuel pump and injectors with the turbo setup (well, you *should* be), but also think about getting a new coil (I like the MSD SS's)....
I've turboed motors with 170K miles and they run fine, it's a matter of making sure everything is in good shape, using a good turbo setup, and knowing what you're doing....

Tuning, a badass turbo setup, tuning, and driving the car smartly (like driving conservatively when the temp outside is 90+ or not going 140 at WOT for more than a couple seconds)
