Pictures of my turbo and some questions
Finally came home from school and was able to see my turbo firsthand. It looks good, but being that it is my first turbo, I still have some questions.
1) With the manifold I want to buy, the turbo will mount underneath instead of on top like most K-series manifolds (I'm buying the Cybernation manifold). But I noticed that if it was mounted that way then the oil return fitting is on top instead of underneath. Now I know how to clock the compressor housing, but my question is: which bolts do I loosen to clock the exhaust housing so that the oil return will be underneath like it's supposed to be? Is it those black ones on the exhaust housing?

2) Where can I buy the compressor vacuum outlet for the wastegate line? Mine doesn't have one.

3) Just a general turbo question. Why is there a hole on the exhaust side before the wheel?
It would seem like that would decrease efficiency and increase turbo lag, no?
And one last picture for the heck of it:

Thanks for reading.

1) loosen all the bolts surrounding it. they're 1/2 standard sized or 13MM wrench will do it also.

1/8 NPT pipe thread fitting to wahtever size vac line . pick it up from home depot or hardware store.
3) the hole is for an internal gate, when you get yoru downpipe itll cover that hole.
And one last picture for the heck of it:

Thanks for all the info.
Now that I look at some downpipe flanges, I can see that they cover the hole.

It was going to be, and I still may end up using it. But something else is in the works right now, so we'll see.
But yeah, that's the cybernation manifold I was talking about.
