Default Valve cover oil leak...

O.K. I have a problem I recently replaced the valve cover gasket on my B16 and when I drive it, it freakin leaks a **** load of oil. Now this is a brand new gasket the only thing that I can think of is that I put it on to tight.

Did you torque it down to specs? Because like you said if you put it on to tight, it will crack.

Well it's not cracked and I replaced it cause the old one started leaking oil. At first I though it was leaking from the cam seals but that's not the case it still leaks from the valve cover.

go get some silicone gasket sealer/maker stuff and seal her up. take your time and no one will ever notice it.

but yeah, if you tightened it too much (like, more than 12ft-lbs i think it is) then you'll squish it and it'l leak.

You have to put the Honda Bond (just buy a tube from Honda) on the corners where the arches from the cams end (the sharp edges)

Thats correct! My VTEC solenoid gasket was leaking badly and causing oil to form at the bottom of the head, check that

It is 9ft-lb it says in the Haynes book. If you dont torque it down it will leak.
