Default oil leak from valve cover

i had an oil leak from my valve cover a couple months ago when i had replaced the gasket with an aftermarket one. i had figured that because it was aftermarket, it was the reason why it had leaked. after finding the leak, i had immediately replaced it with an oem gasket and used gasket sealant on the correct areas. it has been less than 4 months for sure so im wondering why it is starting to leak again. by the way, it's not a severe leak... minor drips

has the valve cover ever been dropped when off the engine? it could be damaged/bent... you never now. Check torque specs too.

I doubt its a torque issue as those bolts only torque to like 7 lbs. Is it leaking on the passenger side of the motor? If so its most likely the exhaust cam seal which is quite easily fixed.

Did you use Honda bond or RTV sealant on the gasket?

I also use a copper gasket sealant or RTV sealant over the areas where the cam goes into the dizzy and where it attaches to the cam gear. I believe the Helms requires this when installing the valve cover.

Did you put sealant where the 90 degree bends are in the gasket ? thats the only place you need it.
Your leak is probably at a corner right ?

i have a simliar problem on my b18b. the oem valve cover gasket was leaking, so i replaced it with an aftermarket. now its leaking a bit, just over the exhaust manifold. i'm just gonna use a bit of RTV to seal it up some more....

Its common

Spray down the area with some brake cleaner and monitor where its coming from.
