Default possible vc leak?

I recently had the valve cover gasket replaced by someone and now i have seemed to have lossed some oil do you tend to lose some oil when you replace it, or should i just take off the cover and put gasket sealer on?

The oil you lose when changing the valve cover gasket is minimal. The amount of oil lost is so small that it won't register on the dipstick. If the spark plug holes are oil free and the motor exterior is clean then your valve cover gasket is fine.
