so only getting max boost out of the kit with the TIAL wastegate.. should be at 5.5 psi.
sooo I was told the header gasket will need to be changed and get me to the 5.5 psi that it should be at.
Does that sound about right to you guys..? Anything else I should be looking at? Fuel Pressure and all that seem to
be good. help me out

 

header gasket? you must have a massive exhaust leak thru that gasket to bleed off more than a couple PSI. the gasket must be really old and worn for that kind of leak. does the car seem to run well without hesitation? I still think that the wastegate is probably misadjusted, any turbo should spool to 5.5psi easy!

 

i got a deltagate wastegate..itll do that if the there is not enough pressure on internal spring from the adjustment nut on top..not sure how yours is adjusted,but that sounds likes thats the problem.

 

The Tial isn't adjustable, like the deltagate.

I had the same problem. Get a boost controller.

Well the headgasket is hella old.. Dont see what else we can do to the Tial wastegate...
I'm gonna cross my fingers and hope changing the gasket yields a good result.
man 3psi isnt enough power! need atleast 2 more psi!

 

I mean the Tial wastegate is not adjustable. It doesn't have the adjustment screw that the deltagate does. The only way to change it's activation point is to change the spring.

I'm pretty sure a gasket ain't going to do it for you. Like I said, I had the same problem. The only solution was a boost controller. You want to get a boost controller anyway, so you might as well get it over with.

Ya know what I just realized... We never reset the ECU (neg. battery cable) -wonder if that will change anything.

You can pretty much tell if you have an exhaust leak. Dose your car sound like ***? Because if you have an exhaust leak it sure will. I had an exhaust leak at the wastegate and i was unanble to make much boost, of course it was fully obvious that there was a leak since the car sounded horrible when lightly accelerating.

 

Doesnt sound like *** at all.
but I swear I could see some exhaust leaking from the Header Gasket.
We will see I'm gonna get the gasket tonight and put it on tomorrow.
