I have a built LS head. crower turbo cams, inline 4 valves, crower duel springs, and its also ported. I start losing power at 6.2 rpm. If you look at some of the big HP LS's, they all lose power. If they don't lose it at 6000 rpm they for sure will at 6.500 form 6.2-7.2 i lose 70 whp and 100 tq. Xrtdac on this site also have the same problem. power lost at 6000 rpm, he lost 30 whp and 100 tq. The reason is, becasue the ls head can't flow that much air in, at higher rpm. Instead of getting cams, valves, valve springs, camgears, and porting done. By that time he could of gotten a vtec head and be done.
I think if you plan on making something like 300 whp, then thats fine. but anything over that, go LS/vtec

if your loosing power over 6000rpm then you have some other problems.
my non-vtec head setup made peak power at 7400rpm and still pulled great to 8000+.........
best non-vtec cams Crower hands down......

Yeah, but I have seen a lot of people who had broken Crower cams in half and messed up the whole head. I wouldn't take a chance on cams.
What other cams are good for power and very reliable?
