Default wierd idle (not erratic)

Yesterday when I was autoxing (only after a run) my car was idling real high (1400rpm) at the grid. Then I'd just punch the gas real quick and it would drop to 900rpm. Could this have anything to do with me having a tad too much (4 oz.?) coolant in my resevoir?

I've had this problem for a while. Try this: when you stop your car at home, try to get it to idle high. I just have to ease off the gas real slow. Let it idle and pop your hood. with your hand, try to close the TB. Just push it the rest of the way, and see if your idle comes down to normal. What TB are you using, intake manifold, and throttle cable? I hace an H22 TB and the cable is from my 92 cx and the IM is from a 98 civic ex. The TB is fine, it seems the problem is where the cable and the TB contact. IM me if you still have the problem.

Sorry. Stock d15b7 w/ short ram. Yes, it did drop to normal (650rpm ) eventually. The thing about the 650rpm is everytime I set my idle to 750 is still insists on dropping to 650. The tension of the throttle cable is good. Should I try cleaning the TB?

i would clean your tb....and play with your IACV more...maybe set your idle above 750, imo that is to low of an idle to begin with. try setting it around 800-900.

I will definately clean the TB. 750 is spec. It seems like anything between that and 1000 is rough.

I dont know why it would be rough, my car idles at 900 (d16y8 w/ z6 head) and it idles very smooth....but since your idle insits on dropping down 100 rpms by itself...thats why i was suggested you set your idle a little higher than 750, so if your idle does drop it will drop to around 750 which you say is where you want it/spec for your motor.
