is this normal? idle
I had a rip in my throttlebody gasket so i replaced it, when replacing it i also messed with the idle adjustment screw.
my question is: is it normal for when you step on the gas and it goes down to idling rpms (800) to immediately bounce up to about 1200 rpms and go back down to 800, then stay there?
thanks

No, that is not normal. It seems as if your throttle is sticking. Not sure with how to fix it, try messing with the throttle cable, seemed to have worked with a friends problem.

hmm interesting.. the throttle cable is as loose as it gets, and has enough slack.
i have also noticed that if my idle adjustment screw is out to where idle is at about 900, my idle will bounce from 900 to 1500 and back and forth for about 30 seconds then it stays at 800-900 until driving around, then it will start bouncing again. fixes?

No kidding and this makes no sense at all.
Bust out your HELMS manual and re adjust the idle per spec. It takes all of two minutes to accomplish.

Re: (Haleiwa-Brando)
i messed with the screw becuase people have said it stops the whisling the skunk 2 IM causes, which it did stop. my idle was just all bouncy, i turned the screw all the way in, my idle is at about 600-700 but still if i give it some gas in neutral it will go to 3000 rpms (or whatever amount i give it) and come back down to idle then bounce back up to 1400 then come back down to idle after about 2 seconds
