Default =HELP= UK Turbo Civic problems

Hi, i posted a thread the other day and no one replied.

Just fitted a Drag Gen 3 kit onto my B16a2 Civic, I couldnt get the Hondata to work so im running stock ecu and one way valve for MAP sensor and FMU for now.

Just went for a test run, got no engine check lights but I got a fair bit of blue smoke, no exhaust yet so its loud with just dp. the idle is pretty rough too.

I'm getting a kinda whining sound, from the turbo? Is this normal?
Should I be getting blue smoke? whats wrong?

here is a pic

whining while driving under a load is normal.check your oil return hose out of the turbo, make sure its not kinked or bend in such a way where it starts to back oil up

yeah you will definately hear the turbo whine if you are running an open downpipe. and also check that return line.

Is it upside down? UK cars dont have the metal across the front to attatch it too.

P.S. The smoke is Black not blue and its over fueling loads, cant get the Hondata working, been told I need a USDM ECU cos it wont work on my UK ECU???

Can someone also tell me how I can stop it over fueling so much? Or will I have to wait til I get the Hondata working?

What will happen if I take the FMU out? I dont wanna boost, just be able to drive it without blowing fuel in!

running stock injectors at the moment, the FMU is a disc shaped and is blue, came with the Drag kit.

It does smoke a bit at idle, only revved to 4000rpm so far whch gave off quite alot of black smoke.

How told you that you can't run Hondata on the UK spec ECU?
I'm run one.
P.S. Where in the UK are you from?

Dude, not to be an *** or anything, but I really think you should read up a bit more, or be safe and not run the car until you have the Hondata tuned.

I wouldn't neccesarily say that. The FMU is going to make you run a little rich when you go into actual boost. The turbo is only going to spool based upon load, so if you drive pretty normally, (I know it's a little different on UK Roads) you should be o.k. But I know for a fact there are a couple of HONDATA dealers out in the U.K. check their website.

Its running really rich on idle, shouldnt it only put in more fuel when it see's boost?

I'm onto the UK Hondata dealer, they are gonna put me a basemap on so hopefully I can get to them, 160 miles away thou.

Do you have an adjustable fpr? If not plumb one in so you can turn down the fuel pressure a little to run a little less rich

do you have an FPR? What injectors are you running? turn down the fuel pressure if you have an FPR. Also, the other thing you can do is remove the check valve, and remove the hondata and run your stock ECU, and just DONT BOOST IT...
