Default shock bolt?

My shock bolt is seized in the rear. I need to get a new one and i went to the dealer to pick two up, but they charge $10 a bolt. I also went to fishers hardware and got a bolt that works, but my question is will this bolt hold up the pressure from the shock or do i have to use the one from the dealer? I wouldn't want the bolt snapping and the shock falling off of the LCA.

Just make sure that the bolt you got is of an equal or higher grade and you won't have a problem. My car is full of bolts from Hardware stores, auto parts stores, and Home Depot.

The bolt at the normal hardware store WON'T work. i went to home depot and ask those people that work there and they don't have anything close to the one dealer has. MAKE SURE YOU USE GRADE 8 OR HIGHER OR STEEL HARDENED BOLT. Or else your car might be busted down the road.

anyone know of anywhere i can get these online for cheaper. 10 bucks per bolt seems a little too steep for me.

Then save your cash and wait until you can afford the real bolt from the dealer. You are probably going to need the bushings as well as it is usually the bolt seizing in the bushing which needs to be torched out.

actually i have brand new rear lower control arms, so no i don't need new bushings. i just don't want to pay 80 dollars for a couple bolts.

dude im not cutting corners. I just asked if i could find this bolt for cheaper. I didn't ask anything else. One person gave me an answer saying what kind of bolt I need. With that the question was answerd. Ill go to the dealer on monday and order the two bolts i need for the back and the one front bolt i need. Thanks for the help. To let you know i have not cut any corners thus far. Everything i have put on my car is good parts. Shocks are KYB AGX shocks, GC coilovers, Spoon lower tie bar, Spoon rear strut bar, and nar-spec LCAs. I just don't want to be ripped off by the dealer thats all. Just wanted to see if there was any other bolt just as good as the dealer that i could get for cheaper. So im done...thanks for the help. Ill just order them from the dealer.

I totaly agree.... it's not work saving pennies over a bolt that holds up your suspention... but i think it's worth the money to go to the dealer or if you live in washington on the west side to go to U-Fix it Honda and i get bolts for free from there. I ride with my girl too it's not worth taking that risk.

acuraautomotiveparts.org has the bolt for $7.33.

I remember when I first installed my shocks, I was afraid I might break my bolts, so I bought some grade 8 metric bolts of proper length and washers from Pep Boys, but I ended up not needing them because my stock bolts are still good.

*edit* actually what I got was grade 10.9 bolts, which is pretty much one of the strongest bolts you can buy.
