Default Tial WG + Turbonetics Gasket w/ Fire Ring: Still use the Tial ring? (35mm)

Last weekend after a full day of spirited driving my car developed an exhaust leak, found that one of the bolts securing my Tial to my MaxRev manifold(no gasket in between) was very loose and there was a carbon trail showing that it was the source of a leak. I tightened it down, but it still was leaking. I heard that it can be caused by the MaxRev mani's WG flange not being perfectly true, so I ordered the famed Turbonetics composite gasket with the fire ring from Road Race Engineering($8 + $6.50 SHIPPING ) and put it on. I still have a leak although not as bad as before. I was wondering if I should be running the Tial bottom ring(that fits into the bottom port) with the Turbonetics gasket or not since the fire ring is pretty similar in size? Thanks

I had a leak too without the bottom tial ring... Once I put it on everything was good, meaning use you need the ring to seal around the metal and gasket material on the fire-ring gasket when using a tial w/g!

So you use em both? I'm using em both and still have a leak grrr

Is there a top and bottom to the fire ring gasket? The sides are different but I wasn't sure if it mattered which direction it was facing

You must use the ring on the tial wastegate.

So the extra ring provided is a good thing to put on?
