1999 Coupe: How to change the directional bulb???
The dealer found that my left turn signal bulb was burnt out on my 99 coupe and offered to change it for $49. That seemed a little high so I decided to change it myself. I thought it would be a piece of cake but I can't figure out how to get the lens out. I've unscrewed the top screw, but can't figure out where else its attached. I don't have the owner's manual.
Thanks
Kristin

They asked $49 because I think you hafta remove the front bumper to access the lower retainer bolts. There are a total of 5 bolts that hold the headlight/turn/park light assembly. email if you have ?'s

What the heck are you talking about?
He just needs to change the left turn signal bulb. You don't have to take off the bumper to do that. You have to go underneath the wheel well, pull off about 4 or 5 tabs holding a rubberlike mat. Once you pull it back a little, there will be a cap. Unscrew it, pull it out slowly, and change bulbs. Put bulb assembly back in, screw in place, replace mat and tabs, and boom you're done.
Oh and don't touch the bulb with your fingers. The oil from your hands will fry the bulb.
$49 to change a turn signal bulb? Mother f*cking dealerships. What a bunch of crooks.

Another example of how auto makers are making cars less and less user friendly. Anyone look underneath the hood of a 2005 model car? You can't even find the damn engine without having to go through a few layers of shielding.

Yea, you know what sux? Alot of cars and trucks on the road don't even have an auto trans dipsticks. How da *** are you gonna check the level if yer on a trip and the trans starts leaking? Owners manual says to go to the dealer! The only time I would go to a dealer is if the car was still under warranty!!!!
