Default F22 Internal Mods...

i am looking to upgrade the internals of my accord (94 ex vtec) and was wondering what a good set-up of pistons/rods/camshaft would be to run, and where i could get them from. im not going to turbo it, so would it make more sence to go with a high comp. setup, please feel free to give me your advice as far as youve had experience with it, im noob to the tuning world, so any constructive help you can give would be great, thanks.

hey thanx for the info. i was planning on taking an f22 w/ 182k on it and rebuilding it with racing parts but now im planning on just running it until it explodes and swapping it with an H22 engine, go w/ the dohc, boost it and mod it before putting it in. save a little time, effort, and $$

Hmmmmm...Buying an h22, bolting on, and turboing it would be much more costly than just rebuilding the F series.
Oh and unless your sleeves are just complete ****, you won't need to resleeve. The f series motors are all iron sleeved, so the most you would have to do would be "freshen" them up.

Ya, but id much rather have the boosted new H22 over an old rebuilt f22. And if i wait until the f22 dies i can have time to put a lot more money into a new engine.

boosted h22 != boosted f22

the f22 is a better motor to turbo. # of cams means ****. its the number of valves you have and both have the same # of valves. h22's bc of the high cr can only run like 6lbs safely. where as a f22 can run up to 10+ safely bc of its lower cr.

thats why you rebuild the h22

Wow I didn't know all the vtec motors are high compression; so 8.8:1 is high compression on a f22.... .

Check with http://www.raceeng.com . They can hook you up with pistons and rods for the F-series. They've got forged pistons in the stock (8.8-1) cr as well high 11-1 cr. I'm running the 11:1 Wiseco pistons with the Crower billet rods in my F22B2.

heres a helpful tip, if you're new to the tuning world, get someone who knows what they are doing to work on your internals.
