The ihi rhb5 is a tiny as turbo, smaller then the saab t3's. I would defintley look into getting something quite a bit bigger.

I think a bigger T3 or a T3/T4 would work for you..

Whats nice about the IHI is you have a very flat torque line and a good amount of top end power. Plus, Its small and generally gives you a much quicker spool then the bigger ones. Just like any other custom turbo setup, You'll need everything custom made, especially the adapter plate.

RHB5's vary a little bit. The Scooby ones frm the old RX and wagons you'd be lucky to get more than 150 whp from, the 87-88 Ford unit with the VJ16 compressor may get you to 200.

They are pretty tiny. We have a Scooby RHB5 on the turbo Justy - 70-odd hp 1200cc 3 cyl - and it spools at 3K.

The new WRX ones aren't the RHB5 anymore, but they share the same turbine flange design as the old Scooby. Those are much more efficient turbos and make a bit more power. If you were to run across one of those, it would make for a good streetcar setup.

Yes they are different. Im guessing from research this is what it comes down to.

Square Flange = Mazda 626 / Ford Probe
Triangular Flange = Subaru

rhb5's are ball bearing and extremely efficient. they are however very small. here is some info on them. fyi- they are the same as rhf5, just older i believe, which is the turbo you should look at for specs. and the flow is in cubic meters/min instead of lbs/min, which pissed me off cause im not good with converting
