How high can you make a 3psi spring go in a tial 38mm wastegate?

I want to get a 3psi spring for h22 for daily driving because its plenty of power...then use a boost controler to take it to 6, 8 then who knows. But just curious what is max that can be taken to before its to small.

A 3 psi spring will barely be enough boost to spin the turbo never mind overcome the restriction imposed upon your exhaust by the turbo. It's not worth it. Get the .5 bar spring, minimum. 6psi is plenty low for daily driving, and you can run up to 12 on it. Supposedly, you can't (shouldn't) boost more than 2x the spring's rating. I don't know why this is the case, but don't get a 3psi spring.

You can double your spring rate with a boost controller, so 6 psi.

This information is incorrect you guys are providing. You can go higher than two times the wastegate spring with a boost controller.

Right but i was told i needed a 3psi spring which is more then enough to save the h22 and its plenty for daily driving given the motor itself is pleaty for daily driving...then boost controler to crank it up. It makes sense seeing how the t3/t4 performs at 6psi......so i think i might do that..but not sure other opinions?

maybe itd be a good idea for 3psi spring for launching at the track.....then get a dual stage boost controler....lay into 2nd at 6psi.....torque off the line sucks.
